Qrispy eSIM Troubleshooting Guide (iOS)

1.Getting Started: How to Set Up and Activate Your Qrispy eSIM
Step 1 - eSIM Activation
Tap on the 'Activate right away' option under 'Activate eSIM' on the Wallet screen of the Qrispy eSIM app, and then follow these steps:
- Tap on Add eSIM, then allow Activate New eSIM as shown under ‘How to activate’ section.
- Follow the automatic activation process, ensuring you have a stable internet connection. Activation usually completes within 1-2 minutes. Once done, proceed to Step 2 - Configuring Device Settings for Your Qrispy eSIM below.
Step 2 - Configuring Device Settings for Your Qrispy eSIM- Go to Settings → Mobile Service → SIMs → Select Qrispy (may be labeled as Personal, Secondary, Travel, or Business).
- Turn Data Roaming ‘ON’ for the Qrispy.
- Return to the previous screen, select your local Primary SIM under ‘SIMs’, and toggle Data Roaming ‘OFF’.
- Navigate back to Mobile Service.
- If at home, select "Primary" as your main data source and enable "Allow Cellular Data Switching" in Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data to allow Qrispy to automatically connect when you’re abroad.
- If abroad, select "Qrispy" as your main data source in Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data. You can switch back to your local SIM when you return home.
Important Notes:- Ensure Airplane Mode is OFF to use Qrispy for mobile data.
- Data Roaming must be ON for the Qrispy to work globally.
- Qrispy can also be used at home. Don’t forget to switch back to your local SIM when home to avoid using Qrispy data.
- If you're in a country where Qrispy coverage isn't available, your eSIM will activate and start working once you reach a supported country. Make sure your settings follow the steps provided here to ensure connectivity in the supported location.

2. Setting Up Your Device to Use Qrispy eSIM for Mobile Data
- Go to Settings → Mobile Service → SIMs → Select Qrispy (may be labeled as Personal, Secondary, Travel, or Business).
- Turn Data Roaming ‘ON’ for the Qrispy.
- Return to the previous screen, select your local Primary SIM under ‘SIMs’, and toggle Data Roaming ‘OFF’.
- Navigate back to Mobile Service.
- If at home, select "Primary" as your main data source and enable "Allow Cellular Data Switching" in Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data to allow Qrispy to automatically connect when you’re abroad.
- If abroad, select "Qrispy" as your main data source in Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data. You can switch back to your local SIM when you return home.
- For connectivity issues, verify APN settings by navigating to Settings → Mobile Service → Qrispy → Mobile Data Network. Ensure that the APN is set to "globaldata" for proper functionality.

Important Note:If you're in a country where Qrispy coverage isn't available, your eSIM will activate and start working once you arrive in a supported country. Make sure your settings follow the steps provided here to ensure connectivity in the supported location.

3. Locating Your APN Settings for Qrispy eSIM
You can check your APN settings by navigating to:
- Settings → Mobile Service → Qrispy → Mobile Data Network
Ensure that the APN is set to ‘globaldata’ for proper functionality.

4. What to Do If Data Isn’t Working
Steps to Fix Data Connection Issues:
- Confirm that your device and eSIM settings match the instructions under Setting Up Your Device to Use Qrispy eSIM for Mobile Data section of this troubleshooting guide.
- Check APN settings to make sure they match the setup guide.
- Enable Airplane Mode for a few seconds, then turn it off to re-register on the network.

5. What to Do If Data Is Stuck on 2G/3G
Steps to Restore 4G-LTE/5G Connectivity*
- Go to Settings → Mobile Service → Qrispy → Mobile Data Network.
- Scroll down and tap Reset Settings. This should restore 4G-LTE/5G connectivity.

*Countries where we only provide 2G/3G services are excluded from this troubleshooting step.

6. Resolving "PDP Authentication Failure" Error
If you do not have any credits in your Qrispy wallet and if you want to get data connection with Qrispy then your device will prompt you with the following message ‘Could not activate mobile data network. PDP authentication failure’ as shown below.

As long as you top-up credits to your Qrispy wallet and reset your connection settings then this error message will not be prompted and you will start getting data connectivity.

7. Resolving Network Connectivity Issues After a Network Switch with Qrispy
In countries where Qrispy supports multiple mobile network operators, Qrispy automatically selects the best network based on your location. In rare cases, after a network switch, you may find yourself connected to an operator without data access. If this occurs, follow these steps:
- Turn on ‘Airplane Mode’ for a few seconds, then disable it to re-register on the network.
- If data connectivity is still unavailable, navigate to: Settings → Mobile Service → Qrispy → Network Selection. Toggle 'Automatic' off and manually select the operator that previously provided a data connection.
- If the issue persists, email us at [email protected] with your account details. Our team will reset your device’s network signaling and provide further assistance promptly.

8. Resetting Network Settings for Persistent Connectivity Issues
If connectivity issues persist after trying the above steps, go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi networks and cellular settings but will not affect your personal data.

9. Updating Carrier Settings for Qrispy eSIM
For optimal connectivity, keep your carrier settings up to date. To check for an update, go to Settings → General → About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear; tap "Update" to proceed.

10. Error Message: ‘This Code is No Longer Valid / Expired’
If you encounter the error message ‘This Code is No Longer Valid / Expired’ while trying to activate your Qrispy eSIM, it indicates that the eSIM is already installed on a device of yours. To verify this, please follow the steps below.
- Go to Settings → Mobile Service → SIMs and check if the Qrispy is present.
- If visible, the eSIM has been installed already. Continue with Setting Up Your Device to Use Qrispy eSIM for Mobile Data section of this troubleshooting guide.
- If not, please email us at [email protected] with your account details, and our team will assist you promptly.
- Go to Settings → Mobile Service → SIMs and check if the Qrispy is present.

11. Reaching the Maximum eSIM Deletion Limit
Qrispy allows a maximum of 5 eSIM deletions and re-installations. If you exceed this limit, your device will display the error message "Unable to Activate eSIM. You can try again, or contact your carrier for assistance".
To resolve this issue, you will need to obtain a new eSIM from Qrispy. Please contact us at [email protected] for assistance. In some cases, you may be required to create a new Qrispy eSIM account.

To confirm if your iPhone supports eSIM, it must be one of the following models:

Important Note:
iPhones purchased from Mainland China are not eSIM-compatible. iPhones from Macao or Hong Kong are not eSIM-compatible (except iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS).
For devices in Türkiye:
- After June 23, 2020, eSIM activates post-installation (contact your carrier if not enabled).
- For earlier setups, follow these steps:
- Back up your device.
- Update to the latest iOS.
- Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset.
- Select Erase All Content and Settings.
- Restore from backup after the reset.
Once complete, set up the eSIM.
Checking iPad eSIM Support
To confirm if your iPad supports eSIM, it must be one of the following models:
- iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation or later)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation or later)
- iPad Air (3rd generation or later)
- iPad (7th generation or later)
- iPad mini (5th generation or later)
Important Note:
Only Wi-Fi + Cellular iPads support eSIM functionality.
For devices in Türkiye:
- After June 23, 2020, eSIM activates post-installation (contact your carrier if not enabled).
- For earlier setups, follow these steps:
- Back up your device.
- Update to the latest iPadOS.
- Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset.
- Select Erase All Content and Settings.

Once complete, set up the eSIM.
Software Compatibility
Ensure your device is running iOS/iPadOS 12.1 or later to support eSIM functionality. For the best experience, update to the latest version by navigating to Settings → General → Software Update.
Verifying SIM Restrictions
In certain cases, your device or service provider may enforce 'SIM restrictions' that affect eSIM functionality. To check for these restrictions:
- Go to Settings → General → About.
- Look for any restrictions labeled under “Carrier Lock” or “Network Provider Lock,” as shown below.

If your device displays any 'SIM restrictions', it will not support eSIM. Please contact your device manufacturer or service provider for further assistance.

13. Resolving Common iOS Error Messages Related to eSIM
If you see error messages such as ‘No SIM’ or ‘SIM Failure’:
- Restart your device.
- Re-check eSIM settings in Settings → Mobile Service to ensure Qrispy is 'On'. If it is 'Off', toggle 'Turn On This Line' under Qrispy to activate it.
- Confirm that your device and eSIM settings match the instructions under Setting Up Your Device to Use Qrispy eSIM for Mobile Data section of this troubleshooting guide.

14. Managing Battery and Data Usage with Qrispy eSIM
To optimize data and battery usage with Qrispy:
- Turn off Background App Refresh for apps that don’t need data.
- Select Low Data Mode for Qrispy in Settings → Mobile Service → Qrispy → Data Mode to manage data efficiently.
